St John’s Cleaning Team (The Dust Busters)
A total of fourteen ladies and gents, covering a wide range of ages from mid 20s to mid 80s, are divided into two teams which enables the church to be cleaned every two weeks. Brass and silver are cleaned by a group of three people and the Lectern is looked after by one lady – a task which takes up to two hours of hard work. Sweeping, dusting and polishing etc requires coordinated effort and everyone takes great pride in their particular job.
All this hard work is reflected in the immaculate appearance of the church and we are always pleased to welcome extra helpers. If you can spare two hours a month please come and join us.
We are also fortunate in having a professional garden designer in the congregation and encouraged by our previous incumbent, Father Robin, and a team of volunteers who were willing to clear the ground, the lovely garden that we see today was completed. The flowers, shrubs and bushes now flourishing in St John’s garden were donated by members of the church and these grounds are presently maintained by the two guys you see below.
