Sunday School

St John's Sunday School is held in the Parish Hall next to the church during the time of the main Sunday Parish Mass.

A three-year curriculum is followed, covering the chief features of the Bible, both Old and New Testaments.

Parents are very welcome to attend with their children if they wish. After the introit hymn the choir children join us.

The session begins with prayer and a song. Then the class splits into two sections for older and younger children. The curriculum subject for the day is then taught and discussed. This is followed by related art-work. The session ends with prayer. The children process into the church with banner and collection. They then return to their parents in order to be present at the Consecration of the bread and wine. They come to the altar rail with their parents to receive a blessing. Many children attend regularly.
