St John's Church of England Primary School is situated at the top of the hill in Bayham Road, with its main entrance in Kennedy Gardens. It was originally housed in a building opposite the church but this was demolished in the early 1970s to make way for flats. The school was then moved to Bradbourne Park Road and finally to its present premises (previously Bayham Road Boys School).

- Nativity Service in St John's Church
The school has strong links with the church. Our Curate, Fr Mark, is school chaplain and takes assembly once a week. A School Mass is celebrated each month. Four members of St John's serve on the Board of Governors.
Services are also held in the church, especially the Nativity Service just before Christmas and the Leavers' Service at the end of the school year.
