St John's Church of England Primary School is situated at the top of the hill in Bayham Road, with its main entrance in Kennedy Gardens. It was originally housed in a building opposite the church but this was demolished in the early 1970s to make way for flats. The school was then moved to Bradbourne Park Road and finally to its present premises (previously Bayham Road Boys School).

- Nativity Service in St John's Church
The school is a church. Father Ivan is the school chaplain and the chair of governors. Apart from taking an assembly once a week, he also teaches RE. A School Mass is celebrated each month. Four members of St John's serve on the Board of Governors.
Weekly services are held in the church, and especially the Nativity Service, the Holy Week Service and the Leavers' Service at the end of the school year.
